YFC will always be an organisation to which members are proud to belong. We aim to offer a safe environment in which members can have fun, make friends, learn and achieve.<\/p>\n
The organisation will continue to be member-led and deliver excellent services for all young people with an interest in the countryside, wherever they live and whatever their background.<\/strong><\/p>\n YFC will manage people and resources, throughout the organisation, so that we can effectively support members and their Clubs. Clubs and County Federations deliver services, experiences and opportunities and are supported by a regional structure, with strategic direction and assistance from the national organisation.<\/p>\n Want to get involved in a club that\u2019s run by people just like you? Want to have a laugh and meet lots of new friends? Want to put something back into the community and feel good about yourself and your achievements? Want to learn some new things and find some new challenges? If you answered yes to any of those questions, you\u2019d better read on!<\/p>\n YFC gives you a chance to do all of those things and lots more, too. It\u2019s run by its members for its members and that means you really can have your say and make a difference to yourself and others. Life in YFC is always fun \u2013 it doesn\u2019t matter if you just interested in the social side of club life or want to get involved in community and environmental issues \u2013 it\u2019s all about meeting new friends and enjoying yourself.<\/p>\n There\u2019s no set agenda, activities vary from club to club, but we can guarantee that you\u2019ll have the chance to do all the things you want to do through the national activities programme. Some clubs focus more on the social side of life, others have a strong community focus. It\u2019s up to each club\u2019s members to decide what they are all about and what they enjoy doing \u2013 it\u2019s a team thing!<\/p>\n So, you\u2019ve got this far, you must be wondering what kind of things we get up to\u2026<\/p>\n The variety of things you can get involved in is huge. It may be pub quizzes, scratch and sniff nights (yes, we do mean scratch and sniff \u2013 everything from Bovril to silage on occasions!), ten pin bowling, tug of war, casino nights, discos, dances, pub crawls, team building events, international travel (fancy a trip to New Zealand? Our international exchange programme can take you anywhere you want to go), community projects, fundraising events\u2026 need we go on?<\/p>\n Basically YFC life is fantastic!<\/strong> Of course we might be biased, so why don\u2019t you check it out for yourself? Go to the contact us section and start the ball rolling!<\/p>\n If you\u2019re between 10 and 16, you can get involved in one of our Junior Clubs. They\u2019ll give you a taste of what\u2019s to come when you\u2019re older and give you the opportunity to enter loads of competitions or just have fun with your friends!<\/p>\n We have\u00a0five Junior Clubs in Suffolk, Blackbourn Valley, Brett Valley, Deben Valley, Gipping Valley and\u00a0Lark Valley.<\/strong> Each of the clubs meet in their various locations and times but whichever club you choose, you can be certain of having a great time with loads of other people your own age.<\/p>\n Junior Clubs are pretty much the same as senior clubs, with lots of opportunities to have fun and get involved in things that interest you. Meetings involve anything from a circus workshop where you could learn how to be a juggler to a farm visit! Or you could do some wall climbing if you\u2019re feeling adventurous!<\/p>\n In Suffolk we try to get the junior and senior clubs together whenever possible including the team building day and the county quiz not to mention our Rally in May, but there is always room for more interaction so if you have any great ideas to \u2018mix it up a little\u2019 then don\u2019t forget to let us know.<\/p>\n Junior Clubs also get involved in some real \u2018hands-on\u2019 stuff in the countryside.
